11 November 2021 (PGL Stockholm Major 2021)

It was the first major in a long time and it allowed us to see all of the top international teams together on LAN going head-to-head for the most prestigious title in Counter-Strike. How do the teams stand against each other? Come and take a look!

15 October 2021 (IEM Fall 2021)

After a series of amazing tournaments that decided who will be going to the major and who wasn't able to book their tickets to Stockholm - we sit down and analyse the results to come up with the next edition of our CSGO tier rankings!

15 September 2021 (ESL Pro League Season 14)

Just as we thought that Gambit had solidified themselves at the top of the Counter-Strike game, a new challenger approached. Slowly Natus Vincere worked to prove that not only were they the best team in the CIS region, but they were the best CSGO team in the world.

19 July 2021 (IEM Cologne 2021)

The first LAN event in over 16months, IEM Cologne, has come to a conclusion and now it is time to see where teams fall in our Tier Rankings. There has been some massive shake-ups as some teams surprise us with their performance and some teams underperformed in the recent event.

14 April 2021 (ESL Pro League Season 13)

ESL Pro League came to the conclusion with Gambit Esports taking out Heroic in the grand finals to cement themselves at the top of the Counter-Strike world right now. It isn't who we expected to be standing on the pedestal, but they are!

11 March 2021 (IEM Katowice 2021)

We are switching back into global rankings for this edition as IEM Katowice saw teams from most of the major regions go head-to-head. What does this mean for the Europe old guard, the dying North American scene, and the new fresh crop of CIS talent?

8 November 2020 (ESL Pro League Season 12 (and more!))

It has been 2months since we last looked at which teams are the strongest in their region for Counter-Strike and a lot has happened. Most notably ESL Pro League Season 12 has concluded across the regions!

19 February 2020 (BLAST Premier Spring 2020 Season)

With the Holiday Season complete, it was time to start the BLAST Premier Spring Season. For this issue of the Tier Rankings, we have major shake ups in the A and B-Tiers, as well as some debuts that jumped straight into C-Tier on their first performances.

12 December 2019 (IEM Beijing, EPL Season 10 Finals, ECS Season 7 Finals)

We have had a bunch of top tier tournaments since we last did a Tier Ranking, so it was time to summon Phoebe and Grady! There is quite a few new A-Tier teams and some falls from grace as well this edition.

1 November 2019 (StarSeries, DH Malmo, ESL NY, and Berlin Major)

It has been over 3 months since we published an Esports Tier Rankings for CSGO and there has been some major shake-ups in the competitive scene. Some teams get sold to new organizations, some rookies rise to the top, and some long time names have a fall from grace.

8 July 2019 (ESL One Cologne)

Team Liquid took out ESL One Cologne 2019 after a hard-fought battle against the French side of Vitality. This win let them take home $1,000,000 and become the second Intel Grand Slam winner, but what did it do for their tier ranking?

26 June 2019 (ESL Pro League Season 9 and ECS Season 7 Finals)

Both of the big leagues came to a close and had massive LAN Grand Finals showing exactly what teams are ready to bring it just before the major. There were a lot of teams that underperformed and that is reflected in a number of down-ranks in this edition of the Tier Rankings.

3 June 2019 (DreamHack Masters, DreamHack Tours and BLAST Madrid)

The premier event this month was DreamHack Masters in Dallas which saw Team Liquid pick up another trophy for the case, ENCE proving to everyone again that they can go toe-to-toe with the big boys, and Astralis no-showing. What has that done to this edition of the tier rankings?

7 May 2019 (IEM Sydney, DreamHack Rio de Janeiro and BLAST Miami)

Grady has returned home from IEM Sydney and that means it is time for the team to sit down and try to figure out a new set of tier rankings. We have 2 teams dropping out of the rankings and three debuts, one of which is the highest debut of all time.

11 April 2019 (StarSeries Season 7, WESG 2018 and BLAST São Paulo)

Post-Major is always an interesting time and right now we have a whole lot of shuffles, for some teams changing the roster core. There has also been a long period where some teams haven't played any tournaments, because of these reasons we have dropped this edition of the rankings down to 25 teams.

8 March 2019 (IEM Katowice 2019 Major)

The IEM Katowice 2019 Major just took place and thats it is time for another tier rankings. This time we see only our second ever double-rank-jump as well as some new faces popping into high-tiers and some fan favorites falling down the table.

29 January 2019 (IEM Katowice Minors, iBuyPower Masters and ELEAGUE Invitational)

In our first rankings for over a month we see a large amount of movement in every single tier. 7 new teams join the rankings with 6 dropping off the bottom and even the A-Tier is starting to get a little thin with the IEM Katowice Major on the horizon.

10 December 2018 (EPL Season 8 Finals, DreamHack Winter and SuperNova Malta)

This week we saw Astralis win $1,000,000 for the Intel Grand Slam to continue their dominance on top of the mountain. We also had another DreamHack event as well as SuperNova Malta over in St Julian's. This week we also see for the first time only 29 teams entering the tier list.

27 November 2018 (ECS Season 6 Finals, DreamHack Atlanta and Toyota Masters)

Astralis got to show once again why they are the undisputed, reigning, defending champions of Counter-Strike right now by taking out the ECS Season 6 finals this past weekend. That wasn't the only tournament effecting the rankings this edition as we also had DreamHack Atlanta and the Toyota Masters in Bangkok.

13 November 2018 (IEM Chicago, BLAST Copenhagen and cs_summit)

Three huge events happened these past few weeks with IEM taking a visit to Chicago, BLAST hosting an event in Copenhagen and finally cs_summit having the third iteration of their local-feeling event. We saw two new teams emerge onto the playing field and our rankings.

29 October 2018 (EPICENTER and StarSeries i-League Season 6)

We missed the last ranking so there was a lot to be taken into consideration for this one. Post-major events are always interesting as we see a lot of teams falling off the charts and others jumping to take the open spots, but how much did that shift out tiers? Spoilers: A lot.

24 September 2018 (FACEIT London Major, also DreamHack Montreal)

The FACEIT Major was held this past week in London and we have to take all three stages of that into account as well as a smaller tournament hosted by DreamHack up in Montreal - There was some huge rank moves this time!

3 September 2018 (DreamHack Masters Stockholm & ZOTAC Cup Masters)

Last time there was no shift in our rankings - this time after ZOTAC Cup Masters and a shocking DreamHack Masters Stockholm finale we see two new teams debut in the rankings as well as five teams shifting around in the ranks!

6 August 2018 (ELEAGUE Premier & IEM Shanghai)

ELEAGUE Premier saw 8 of the top teams in the Counter-Strike world go head-to-head and nothing out of the ordinary happened, so we delayed our rankings until after the next big tournament. Then IEM Shanghai just ended and again nothing shocked us or shook up the rankings.

23 July 2018 (FACEIT London Minors & DreamHack Valencia)

After a long stretch we now know which eight teams will be heading to London for the FACEIT Major from the CIS, Europe, Americas and Asia minors. We also know that North took out DreamHack Valencia after a tight final battle against underdogs Luminosity Gaming.

10 July 2018 (ESL One Cologne)

One of the biggest tournaments of the year, ESL One Cologne has just ended and that means an update to our tier rankings with some massive shake-ups from the unexpected results in the Cathedral of Counter-Strike. There is also a bunch of smaller qualifiers and tournaments to take into account.

19 June 2018 (ESL Belo Horizonte, CSGO Asia Champs & DreamHack Summer)

It was a big weekend of Counter-Strike with three huge top-tier LANs all going on at once. We had ESL over in Belo Horizonte, Perfect World in Asia for the CSGO Asia Championships and DreamHack in Jönköping for DreamHack Open Summer 2018 - so there has been a lot of movement on our tier rankings.

11 June 2018 (ECS Season 5 & Moche XL Esports)

This past week included two tournaments that had top teams; the ECS Season 5 Finals with the top four teams from each of the EU and NA conferences going head-to-head and a smaller tournament held in Lisbon called Moche XL Esports that featured HellRaisers and SK Gaming as well as major legends Quantum Bellator Fire.

6 June 2018 (StarSeries i-League & DreamHack Austin)

This is the first in what will become a regular segment on Esports Kingdom. Grady and Jamie get together after every major LAN and instead of ranking the teams based on their recent performance, they place their top 30 teams into tiers with other teams at their skill-level.
